neuroticgirl's Diaryland Diary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

tyler, tyler, and a little more tyler

Today's my second stay at home day. Whoopee.

Tyler does so many cute things. He's learned the difference between cat and dog and he likes to run around the house showing off his new knowledge. I feel so sorry for the poor cat. The dogs lucked out and ended up on the other side of the sliding glass door so all he can do is stand there and point to them.

Also he's got this little routine that he's pretty proud of. He'll get into something that he's not supposed to get into and I'll say no. He then starts crying as though you've told him his favorite teddy has died and want to be held by the person who told him no. So I'll pick him up to make him feel better and he'll smile slyly. The very moment that I set him back down he makes a beeline for the forbidden object that started all the trouble and then acts hurt and surprised that he still can't get into shit. It's a vicious cycle.

He's also at the age (14 months) where he wants to do stuff that he just can't do yet. Like dress himself. Without ANY help from me. He gets so angry when I try to help him out and then gets angrier when he can't do it. Screaming and throwing himself all over the place in a little fit of baby rage. It's hard to act all disapproving of the temper tantrum instead of laughing mightily.

Look, two days at home and already all I can talk about is the baby.
